Upgrading Weapons????
I still remain a little confused. I'm hoping one of you can clear this up for me. I have a Zealous War Hammer:
Damage +13% While Hexed Energy Gain on Hit +1/Energy Regeneration -1 If I've read the other posts correctly (yes, I actually did a search before my post) I can apply a new hammer haft to replace the Zealous haft? (The -1 really slows up the energy recharge). So would i apply a Hammer Grip if I want to replace the +13% damage while hexed? Also I've seen some of the grips that add +4 armor, etc. Is that just +4 on the weapon, not on an actuall armor piece? Does +4 on my weapon make much of a difference. I have a +4 grip for an axe, but already have a +25 health grip on it & wasnt sure which one would be most beneficial. Thanks for your help! |

The damage mod, the +13% damage (while hexed), is an innate mod and cannot be changed. Zealous can be changed, however.
+4 armor is on the weapon, but will apply to anywhere you get hit. +armor tends to do more for you in the long run than +25 health.

To add a bit to what Savio said, your weapon can have both a grip and a haft. Currently, it has the zealous haft, and it doesn't look like it has a grip. If it had a grip, it would be called Zealous War Hammer of _______. So, you can both change your zealous haft, and add any grip you salvage or buy.
The typical school of thought on health vs armor upgrades is: go with armor. One way of thinking of it is that the health will only come into play if you are almost dead. It really only helps in a situation where previously, you would have been dead, you now have about 1 more hit worth of life. Of course, this is usually too little too late. The armor, however, will come into play and reduce the damage you take on every hit. Thus, it can have a greater overall effect, as it is still usefull, even if you're hovering around 2/3 max health or something. |
